Description
As a sartorial detail, the ruffle has a long and sometimes chequered history. Ruffles conjure up images of Gone With the Wind era Southern belles where a grown woman can swan through the streets in a red taffeta with ruffles and layers emphasising the décolleté gown. Historically, ruffles were a unisex addition to an item of clothing and the ruffle itself doesn’t get any better than the Elizabethan ruff, which was a heavily starched affair worn around the neck – uncomfortable, no doubt, but did wonders for the Elizabethan posture!
The Ruffle dress is a beautiful hand made to measure silk flower girl dress available in 140 different silk colours. Please have a look at the pure silk swatch cards and email us with your address and the reference numbers of the swatches that you would like to see and we’ll post them out to you.
