Just hearing a few bars of the ‘Bonny Banks of Loch Lomond’ invokes images of Scotland. No source seems to be able to attribute the lyrics to a single composer but one prefered story is that it was written by a Jacobite prisoner awaiting his fate in Carlisle Prison, after the Jacobite defeat at the battle of Culloden. Whichever story one prefers the ‘high road’ is seen as the main road, as opposed to the ‘low road’ of death, where the spirit of the soldier will return to his homeland.
The ‘Bonny’ wedding shawl is made of beautiful black ethically produced feathers. We make shawls in a range of colours for brides, bridesmaids and flower girls. If you are looking for a particular colour please email us and we can discuss the options.
